Training Hands.
Changing Lives.
From sewing machines to computer screens — CHYCF is equipping young Nigerians with the skills, confidence, and credentials to build their own futures.
3-Week Tailoring & Fashion Skills Training Seminar
CHYCF ran an intensive three-week training seminar equipping participants with practical tailoring and fashion skills. Trainees worked on industrial JUKI sewing machines under the supervision of skilled instructors — learning fabric handling, cutting, stitching, and garment construction from start to finish.
Each trainee received dedicated machine time and one-on-one guidance throughout the seminar. The programme targeted unemployed youth and women who need a tangible, income-generating skill they can take directly into their communities. Graduates leave with both a certificate and a trade.
Computer & ICT Skills Training
CHYCF's computer training programme gives youth and women access to digital opportunity. Participants learn computer fundamentals, office productivity software, internet navigation, and essential digital tools — opening doors to employment, entrepreneurship, and civic participation in an increasingly connected world.
Sessions are held in dedicated computer labs with individual workstations and in smaller group settings with shared laptops. Instructors project lessons in real time so every participant can follow along, regardless of prior experience. The programme is designed for absolute beginners.
Women for SMEs — Training Outreach
CHYCF ran a dedicated outreach programme to train women in small and medium enterprise (SME) skills — equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to start, manage, and grow their own businesses. The programme covered enterprise planning, market access, financial management, and practical business development.
This outreach brought together women from across the community for structured sessions on entrepreneurship and economic empowerment. Participants gained actionable insights into running small businesses — from record keeping and pricing to customer service and growth strategies relevant to the Nigerian market.
Visit to the Ministry of Youth & Development, Kaduna
CHYCF made an official visit to the Kaduna State Ministry of Youth and Development to strengthen ties with government, advocate for youth-focused policies, and align our programmes with state development priorities. The visit opened important channels for collaboration and resource mobilisation on behalf of our beneficiaries.
The delegation held discussions with ministry officials on joint programming, funding opportunities, and referral pathways for youth and women completing our training programmes. Engagements like this ensure CHYCF's work is recognised at the highest levels and connected to broader state-level initiatives in Kaduna.
